The Selection Process

The following information regarding the selection process may be of assistance:

• only applications received electronically will be acknowledged - by way of an auto-reply email*;
• the Selection Advisory Committee (SAC) will generally comprise two or three members;
• although further assessment, such as interviews, is generally undertaken, this is not mandatory if the result is clear and can be determined from application and referee reports;
• nominated referees are generally contacted after further assessment, and only for those applicants in close contention for the position;
• if the panel has requested that you provide written referee reports, your referees should be provided with the rating scale and proforma (MSWord or Rich Text format) and
• all applicants will be informed of the outcome of the selection process, at which time, applicants can seek feedback on their application.

IF YOU ARE SELECTED TO ATTEND INTERVIEW

The Interview
The Chair of the SAC will contact you if you are shortlisted to confirm the details of your interview and any additional assessment activities which may be included in the selection process. For some positions, this may include psychometric testing.

CrimTrac Location and Parking
All interviews are conducted at CrimTrac's offices, located at 496 Northbourne Avenue, Dickson ACT. A map is included below for your reference.

Paid parking options are available at the rear of CrimTrac's offices (on Challis Street). Occasionally, the Chair of the SAC will be able to secure a parking space at the front of CrimTrac's building however these are subject to availability.

Upon arrival in the foyer, please report to the security guard who will contact a member of the SAC to notify them of your arrival.

The Security Clearance Process
In order to expedite the security clearance process as quickly as possible, CrimTrac asks that all applicants who are shortlisted for a position bring with them to interview an AFP National Police Check Form and copy of their driver's license. Police checks will only be conducted for candidates who are recommended as suitable following the selection process.
